APERTURE OF SEEING unfolds in two parts — “Seeing” and “The Pensieve”, exploring how visual perception and memory intertwine.

“Seeing” depicts vision as a dynamic interplay of environment, image, body, and mind. Inspired by eye anatomy, it features a folded drystalline form with a central aperture that channels light through layered perception. This refractive effect echoes a camera obscura, revealing perception’s fleeting nature.

“The Pensieve” turns inward as a vessel cradling fragments of thought. Beyond mere nostalgia, it follows a stream of consciousness where memory and imagination softly entwine. As I reflect on the places my ancestors once lived, the distance between reality and my interpretations of their memories reveals, deepening the ache of absence. Through tracing objects and the imprints in collective memory, I seek to hold and affirm those pasts born in the realm of imagination.

APERTURE OF SEEING captures fleeting glances and memories, portraying seeing as a fluid, generative process where reality and imagination interlace. Memories become the trace of time, guiding through perception and time-space.
